We
generally grow six types of lettuce year round: Bibb, Buttercream,
Red Looseleaf, Green Looseleaf, Frilly Looseleaf, and Romaine. The
variety for a particular type may change with the seasons as some
varieties are bred to perform better in cooler or warmer weather.
All lettuce is delivered with roots intact for a fresh, longer lasting
product. |

Bibb
Our mainstay, Bibb lettuce is compact
with bunched rosettes. Leaves are thick and crisp with a superb sweet
flavor. Great for salads or sandwiches, |
 |
Oakleaf
A beautiful light red loose leaf mixed
with green in a oakleaf pattern. The leaves of the heads do not close
tightly but form an open rosette.. This type is very high in potassium
with a wonderful taste.
A great lettuce for mixed salads. |
 |
Loose Leaf Green
This is the commercial standard for
loose-leaf lettuce. The curly leaves are dark green rather than most pale, yellow-green summer lettuce
with a sweet crunchy taste. Very versatile, it can be used in "romaine"
type salads as well as "wilted salads". |

Frilly
NEW!! A commercial loose-leaf fresh market
lettuce, excellent tasting. The most gorgeous looking lettuce we grow,
it is covered with many identical finely serrated
leaves. Leaves are a very uniform, dark and shiny green. Plant is crisp,
but still flexible and has excellent shelf life. |

Romaine
Broad. upright leaves that bunch as they mature. Romaine lettuce
is crisp and juicy, with a sweetness that is unmatched by other lettuce
types.. Perfect for Caesar and other salads. A very good tasting product. |
